VL 56 Pendant Polished Brass
Design by Vilhelm Lauritzen
The well-known functionalist architect, Vilhelm Lauritzen designed
the VL 56 Pendant for Folkets Hus, in Vesterbro Copenhagen.
Originally designed and built for the Danish Labour Movement,
the building opened in 1956 and is now used as a concert hall, called Vega.
The building is a gesamtkunstwerk, meaning that Lauritzen designed everything in the building,
from doorknobs, staircases and power outlets, to furniture and lamps.
The VL 56 Pendant is one of the lamps Vilhelm Lauritzen designed for Vega,
and to this day it hangs above the wood-panelled bar, adjacent to the concert hall.
Both the chrome and brass variants were reintroduced in 2023, with slight adjustments and improvements.
The pendant emits downward directed glare-free light.
The radial perforation pattern around the opening creates a softer transition between light and darkness.
The perforations create a soft beautiful pattern of light both on the shade and on the surrounding surfaces.

VL 56 펜던트를 디자인했습니다.
본래 덴마크 노동 운동을 위해 설계되고 건설된 이 건물은 1956년에 개장되었고
지금은 Vega라고 불리는 컨서트 홀로 사용되고 있습니다.
이 건물은 게잠트쿤스트베르크(총체 예술)로, Lauritzen이 문손잡이부터 계단, 전원 콘센트, 가구, 램프에 이르기까지
건물의 모든 것을 설계했습니다.
VL 56 펜던트 램프는 Vilhelm Lauritzen이 Vaga를 위해 디자인한 램프 중 하나이며,
오늘날까지 콘서트 홀에 인접한 목재 패널 바 위에 매달려 있습니다.
2023년에는 약간의 조정과 개선을 거쳐 크롬 및 황동 버전으로 다시 선보였습니다.
이 펜던트는 눈부심 없는 하향광을 발산합니다.
개구부 주변의 방사형 천공 패턴은 빛과 어둠 사이의 전환을 부드럽게 연출합니다.
이러한 천공은 전등갓과 주변 표면에 부드럽고 아름다운 빛 패턴을 연출합니다.
